A Blast from the Past - Halloween with my dad 2006

Reed and Dad

Dad, Phil, Mom (tom's mom) and Rae enjoying each others company, which we often do around this home of ours

First time dad and Tom's mom, Geraldine met
(they sure enjoyed talking with one another)

This is one of many holidays that my dad and I enjoyed together
In his younger days he was the one working and I helping him, this time it was Tom doing the work and me taking pictures

Last but not least, my dad and I liked to tease each other so I put a spider web on his shoulder along with a spider .. The Great Paka looked scared, didn't he?
(kinda like the song, en see weensy spider crawled up the water spout, down came the rain and washed the spider out, up came the sun and dried up all the rain so the en see weensy spider crawled up the spout again ..) Thanks Dad for the great memories ..

A Blast from the Past - Halloween Fun with Friends 2007

The Girl Scouts of America invited us to their Halloween Party... they are preparing themselves to sing the songs (little did they know what we had in store for them)

Paka Tom Played the songs while all of us joined in
(by the way, that is an original music stand holding the music, look familiar?)

So much for the rumor, you can pick your friends and you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your friends nose

Grandma and Paka Tom hang around with the strangest friends!

Flash Back Friday

If you have ever wondered what Neapolian Dynamite looked like, you won't have to wonder any more... here he is in the flesh, in Melinda's Living Room ... Look at him go!!! (clue: Rick is sideways in the video for some reason this program turned the video, any ideas why and how to fix it? please let me know .. thanks )

Halloween was full of family fun !

What Grandma and Grandpa look like when the Grandchildren are not around.

Hope you enjoyed the video .. We had 2 out of the 6 of our children come to the party with 5 grand kids (we have a total of 15 grandchildren and one on the way in April 2009) ..

We didn't know we had a theme going on , but we ended up with spooky eyeball plate settings and cupcakes with eyeballs .. funny how that happens ..

All of us had a great time, we ate the taco salad first (tummies first, then games after ) Jeremy watched the ending of the BYU game, along with the rest of us(close game, but they won, yeah! was there any question .. ) The kids made spiders, and the kids got their aggressions out on Micky Mouse (the pinata), Alina brought home made cupcakes (Paka Tom said they were very moist and good) thanks Alina for making them, the kids and adults alike enjoyed them ..

Thanks everyone for bringing the food and cleaning up afterwards .. many hands make light work! Til we meet again ...

Women's General Conference Session

There was much counsel and comfort given to us at this meeting ... Let me share 3 with you
  1. Always remember that we are Treasured Daughters of our Heavenly Father...
  2. Focus on what we can do and not on what we can't do ...
  3. Let us be an instrument to the Lord to answer others prayers ...
(thoughts given by President Dieter Uchtdorf, 2nd Counselor in the 1st Presidency of the LDS Church )

While Alina and I were being uplifted and edified by the wonderful speakers at the Women's General Conference Session,
Cache was enjoying a night with Dad and Grandpa ...
Thanks Alina for making the extra effort to come up to Salt Lake City and to enjoy the conference with me ...
Also to Rich and Grandpa for being such great troopers with Cache while we were gone!

Hmm ... what should I draw next!

Boy, I did so good with my left foot, maybe I should try it with my right hand ...

Look at what I did Grandma! I'm so proud of myself ...

I'm just hanging here with dad & grandpa ! See i'm a Packers Fan just like them!

Happy Anniversary ... Boy, has it been 6 or 60 years? You be the judge!

Look what God has given to all of us to enjoy this fall season ...How beautiful it is!
It felt so good to get away from the city life and enjoy the country ..
For the ones who don't live in Utah, here are some pictures to enjoy, for the ones who do live in Utah, if you haven't had a chance to go up to one of the canyons, please take the time before the leaves all fall on the ground and the color is gone .. enjoy the color and the wonderful clear air ... it is just spectacular and the kids will enjoy it too and you will be creating memories!

The pictures above and below were taken in Emigration Canyon up in Salt Lake City UT on our anniversary (Sunday Sept 28, 2008). We had a fun time hiking and taking pictures ...
Enjoy til next time ..

NOTE: A BLAST FROM THE PAST

This brings back fond memories for me of when Jeremy, Melinda, and Alina were younger. We used to go up the canyon, take pictures, pick some twigs with leaves on them, then take them home and put them on the table, in a vase to enjoy. The kids would pick a leaf, put the leaf under a piece of paper, pick a crayon and rub the crayon over the paper, it would leave an imprint of the leaf. How simple and awesome is that?! They sure loved doing it and so did I as their mother.

WE ARE UP AND RUNNING! YEAH !

Well .. not quite ... soon I will be walking in water though .... LOL ... The doc gave me several shots of cortisone in both feet to help them fell better, WOW! do they hurt, but just for 2 days, then they will feel better for a while.. Melinda, our daughter who lives in Las Vegas, kept me busy helping me set up our blog while I was icing my feet (helped me forget how bad they really do hurt). So a Big Thanks goes to her .. That's it for now, check back often ..
We Love All of You
